INFO: After the original Resident Evil game for Game Boy Color was canned, it came as a suprise that a new Resident Evil game would be made for the old console, as opposed to the Game Boy Advance. Resident Evil Gaiden is an all new Resident Evil game (set on a cruise liner) and a major departure from the series. Features include:
New Perspective: a top-down view is used for adventuring similar to most Game Boy Color RPGs...except most Game Boy Color RPGs don't have zombies in them.
New Battling System: when attacked, you enter a first-person mode and must use all your firepower and health, spread across up to three characters, to eliminate your foes by timing your fire just right to hit the scrolling bar before the zombies get you.
Plot Furthered: the Resident Evil saga is continued (though in Gaiden - side-story - terms) as the secret organisation formed by ex-S.T.A.R.S. members and the like to bring down Umbrella Inc., with Barry Burton and Leon Kennedy returning to the fray.
Made In The UK: developed by UK-based M4 and released in the UK first. Pity it ain't that great...ah well.
Erase Data Feature: yes, now you can experience the wonders of having all your saved data erase at crucial points in the game with Resident Evil Gaiden. Hurray!

RELEASED: December 2001 (UK), June 2002 (US)
