RESIDENT EVIL: DEADLY SILENCE

INFO: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence marks the series' return to a Nintendo handheld. After the first attempt to port the 1996 original was canned (and Resident Evil Gaiden was released), the Nintendo DS now gets to visit the spooky mansion where it all began. This section will be expanded as more details emerge, although plot, character and enemy information can be found in the Resident Evil (GC) and Resident Evil (GBC) sections.

FEATURES: 10 Years On: Deadly Silence is a conversion of the original game that allows you to return to the original survival horror a decade after Resident Evil made its debut. A fitting anniversary that such a seminal game should be released on such an innovative console.
Fully 3D: for the first time, the Spencer Estate mansion will be playable in fully 3D, without pre-rendered backgrounds as seen in the PlayStation and Gamecube versions. This allows for first-person knife-fights (see below) and immersive gameplay.
Dual Screen: thanks to the Nintendo DS' second screen, all your health, ammo and map information can be viewed on the top screen, so you don't have to stop the game to go through all the menus.
Two Modes: play Classic Mode, and relive the original PS game, complete with live-action opening sequence. Alternatively, play Rebirth Mode. First-person knife fights, stylus-based puzzles, 180 degree quick turn, reload with R button and bring out your knife with the L button a la Resident Evil 4.
Multiplayer: play the main game in a brand new 2-player co-operative mode, or battle against 3 other friends as you see who can kill the most baddies in the alotted time.
