INFO: Resident Evil 0 was in development for some time. Originally intended for the N64 after the success of Resident Evil 2, it is a prequel to the original game. After a couple batches of screenshots were released, the game seemingly vanished. That was until Capcom confirmed what many had suspected; that it had been bumped up to Gamecube. New features include:
Switch Ability: at the tap of a button you can switch between the two main characters, Rebecca and Billy, who have their own strenghts and weaknesses, such as ability to mix herbs, move heavy objects and take more damage, making the game play different to any other RE installment.
Co-operartive Characters: if you're in trouble, then your buddy can help you out or vice-versa. Now zombies will go after your cohort as well as you, even if you're not controlling them, so protecting each other is vital. All you have to do is assign a weapon to your partner and how they react to hostile situations. However, if they run out of ammo you'll need to switch between them. Their situation (if not in the same area) is indicated by radio contact, so better help them out before it's game over for your both.
No Item Chests: in a radical departure, Resident Evil 0 has none of the magical trunks you can place health, ammo, keys and the like in. From now on, you either transfer the item between characters or use the new 'leave' ability to drop it on the floor. Hopefully, you won't have to come back to pick it up later, or there could be plenty of toing and froing...
