ABOUT THE NECROPOLIS

Created by Bad Juju aka Beat aka Kick In The Head
First Internet Appearance: 06.03.00
Site Topic: Resident Evil on Nintendo consoles, plus Evil Dead and Spaced
About the site: Created as part of an I.T. project back in 1998, the Necronomicon Ex Mortis was a basic site with a large picture of the Necronomicon on the title page. Having recently seen Evil Dead 2 and Army Of Darkness, it was a different approach to the standard 'About Me' sites we were meant to do. It was basic stuff, little information and was when I was learning HTML for the first time. Without the internet, it wasn't gonna amount to much, or was it? Even though I was without a connection, I carried on work with it (I hate sites 'under construction'), changing the title page a bit and adding more stuff and changing certain areas, including the name, which was made into The Necropolis Of EMU 2. Regarding this name, the necropolis comes from the third level of Quake, and means corpse city (rather apt for Raccoon City), used to describe certain graveyards, while EMU 2 was my 'game-name' at the time, used when playing Quake 2 against my mates. It came from Turok 2 where the enter player name section had E, M, U and 2 in a column, so I just used it. Then the Resident Evil section was added with stuff on RE: GB, RE2, RE:0 and RE: Dolphin (the Nintendo only gimmick was not biased against Sony or Sega, indeed I believed at the time that Code: VERONICA was the best in the series, but I didn't have a PSX and there was no point getting RE2 on DC as well as on N64 - I want to own the games I'm talking about). The site was ready to air and on Monday 6th March, I got on the internet, signed onto GeoCities and uploaded my site. Later on the layout was changed again, the EMU 2 part taken off and then again with frames added on to ease navigation. On 01.10.01 (cool date, don't you think?), it was given a once-over and transferred to a new server, removing all the crap and stuff that clogged up the site, while updating and smartening up other stuff to keep. With university on the go, updates are not so frequent, but there's still plenty of stuff to look at.
